Diocesan Liturgical Policy and Guidelines

Bishop Peter Ingham, in consultation with the Diocesan Liturgical Commission, prepares and promulgates policy and guidelines regulating various aspects of the liturgy and liturgical ministry as it pertains to the Diocese of Wollongong (GIRM #386-394).

Practical Guidelines for Liturgical Ministers

The Diocesan Liturgy Office, in consultation with the Diocesan Liturgical Commission, prepares and publishes Guidelines to help promote a liturgical spirituality and an understanding of practical aspects of liturgical ministry so that "our celebration of the Mass will be an uplifting experience of the community at prayer and worship."

Practical Guidelines for Parishes and Schools

The Diocesan Liturgy Office, in consultation with the Diocesan Liturgical Commission, prepares and publishes guidelines on commercial and administrative matters regarding music in the liturgy.

Practical Guidelines for Building or Refurbishing a Church

The Liturgical Architecture Committee of the Diocesan Liturgical Commission is responsible for reviewing and approving proposals for construction of new Churches and Presbyteries in the Diocese. It is also responsible for reviewing and approving proposals for refurbishment of Churches and Presbyteries.

 

The National Guidelines were promulgated in January 2015 and are available here. The following Diocesan policy and guidelines document is available from the Liturgy Office in printed format and for download:
